Overwhelmed

why is it that
some days are too full
while others are just right
the tasks keep piling up
and i’m not sure
where to start
balancing it all
is proving to be
impossible
can i just stop time
get caught up
and press play
when i’m ready
to begin again

In the last few days I’ve found myself wishing that I could hit the pause button too. And quite possibly the rewind button and turn myself into a kid again.

I have two different responses for you. You can choose which one you need today.
    1. I hear you. I understand.
    2. Your today’s slice shows that you are ready for the weekend rest and play. Try not to let the school work conquer your personal time on the weekend. I have figured out that when working at school you hardly ever feel done, especially when you have high standard for yourself and are passionate about your job. You may have moments when you feel accomplished and then new assignments just keep piling. I’ll share a little secret: the two absolute musts are Reports and IB evaluation. And for the last one not everything has to be perfect. Among all the other things it is possible to let some things go, push some deadlines a bit further, and if wait long enough some things will go away. My husband laughs at me every time I say that I am super busy and it will get easier. He knows that the easier arrives with the summer holidays.

I love this! I’ll take them both. I know that I sometimes give myself too many jobs and put too much pressure on myself. You’re right- not everything has to be perfect and some things can be pushed. Thank you for the reminder and the thoughtful response. šŸ™‚

Terje has really good advice! Do what you can when you can. Life never slows down, but you can. Take that deep breath and pause before tackling the next “important” thing. šŸ™‚
