One of my annual traditions is reflecting on the past year through photos. Here are my past year in photos reflections- 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. While I love telling stories through words, I enjoy trying out different methods.
2019 was a year with many ups and downs. One of the highlights of my year was my summer of travel, where I spent 6 weeks traveling to 6 countries, visiting friends and family, eating delicious food and taking in the scenery and sights. Here are my favorite memories from the year, in chronological order. Which one’s your favorite?

So many smiles! So many adventures! Slicing with pictures is powerful and I loved spending a year with you just now! I don’t have a favorite, each was so joyful or beautiful in its own way. I wonder if I could narrow down my year in pictures as brilliantly as you have done.
Thanks Paula! Lots of smiles for sure. 🙂
I loved traveling with you vicariously, but most important- what a great gift to yourself- and 6 years in a row! I may try this. My favorite is with the 2 donuts- don’t know why 🙂
I also wonder, like Paula above, how to edit a year into a few photos. But if that means you visit and share that “album” often, where you wouldn’t with the whole year’s collection, I really get the value. How do you use your Year in Photos, beside sharing it with your writing friends?
I love that one, too! That’s me and my niece Randi on our “date”. I take her and my nephew out on a date each time I go home to visit. They get to choose whatever we do for the day, but it ALWAYS starts with donuts! 🙂 I treasure these memories I make with them.
It’s really hard to choose, but I scroll through my phone, favoriting the ones that strike a chord with me or make me smile. I try to make sure I don’t choose too many from one place or time (although that was hard to do with Paris!) so that it’s balanced. I have only shared them here during the March SOL challenge, but you’ve given me an idea now. I might make them into a book! Thanks!
So many places. The best part is always meeting the people who are part of your life. The joy in smiles is radiating off the screen. I like your literary costumes too.
Thanks Terje! I have some pretty special people in my life, that’s for sure! I’m a huge fan of dressing up…haha 🙂
It looks like you had an amazing year! Your smile says it all! I can’t choose a favorite because there are so many potential winners. 🙂
I had lots of fun, that’s for sure!
Love how you use pictures to tell your story of the past year! So many smiles. Laughter. Love. Fun. Memories. I want love to try using pictures to tell a story!
Thanks Shelly! It’s always hard to decide which ones to include, but it’s a great way for me to reflect on the past year. 🙂
My favourite is when you visited ME! It definitely made my year, I can’t wait to visit you this summer!
That was definitely a highlight for me, too!! I can’t wait to visit again. And I definitely can’t wait for you to come to Texas! 🙂
Oh, I always love your year in pictures! My favorites this year are the pictures of the cherries and apricots in the market (I live for summer fruits!) and the incredible shot of the stained glass in the cathedral. Which cathedral was that? You also had so many smiles, so I hope that means that you had some very good travels.
Thanks! The cherries in the market were from Albania…I love cherry season there! I ate so many. And the chapel was in Paris- Sainte-Chapelle. It’s incredibly gorgeous! 🙂 Yes, definitely lots of good travels this past year.
Such great photos, the overall impression is that you were having a lot of fun for a lot of the time however up and down the year was! As someone who also wears glasses, you seem to have quite an array of them!
