I got this idea from a fellow slicer, and thought it was the perfect way to reflect on the Slice of Life Challenge. In my eighth year, I am a seasoned slicer and deeply cherish this gift of writing and community, and today, the last day of March 2018, I am sad that it’s coming to an end.
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
get back to my normal exercise routine
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
deeply miss the daily interactions with the SOL community
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
spend time planning my summer travels
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
miss writing every day
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
have more time to catch up on the work I’ve put off
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
be a better friend to those I’ve neglected
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
try to find a happy medium with my blogging (it doesn’t have to be all or nothing)
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
finish that puzzle I started
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
spend more time writing in my writer’s notebook
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
focus more on my goals for this year
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
miss reading about what karpenglish, shaggerspicchu, elsie, standingtall47, angelina’sgarden, and tomasevichtales are up to everyday
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
read more books
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
strike a better balance
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
have a hard time letting go
When the SOL Challenge is over I will
look forward to next year’s challenge
I really like this format. It is very reflective and a nice way to end.
This is the perfect slice to end this month. What a great format! Eight years of the challenge–now, that’s quite an accomplishment!!! Congratulations!
Thank you! I loved the format, so I asked to “steal” it 🙂 Eight years…seems like forever, huh? How many years have you sliced?
This was my fourth 🙂
Lovely reflection! Do you slice on Tuesdays? That could help you get a weekly habit of blogging going. Congratulations!
Thank you! I will give it a shot, as I always do…but I tend to peter out come May. Hopefully this year will be different! 🙂
I could relate to many of the things you will get back to after this challenge; my own exercise routine has been woefully lacking. I agree with Ms Victor–let’s meet on Tuesdays!
I am planning on it…let’s hope I can last past April! 🙂
Such a great reflective piece… love the form you crafted. I connect to most, but this one rings true today: “deeply miss the daily interactions with the SOL community.” Here’s to meeting on Tuesday SOLs.
Thank you for all the support this month Alice!
I, too, have a list of things I will spend a little more time doing if I am not writing daily, but I will miss it. Weirdly, it seems easier to write every day than only once a week. 😀 Thanks for the shout-out to my blog. I’ll miss your adventures, and those of many others too!
While I haven’t commented on every slice, I’ve read almost all of them. Thank you for introducing me to this! I love the inspiration and the connection it has provided. Until next year!!
Thanks Melissa! So glad you read my slices. I hope you join again next year! Where will you be by the way?
Wait, blogging doesn’t have to be all or nothing?!?! I wish I could take that one to heart. I am all or nothing with pretty much everything though, blogging included. I am looking forward to spending more time in my writers notebook, to catching up on reading, and to having a little more balance–though I will also miss the daily check-ins with blogs I love.
haha…I’m the same way! I don’t know why it’s harder to do it everyday rather than once a week. I guess it’s the habit thing. 😉
I guess my format worked out well for you. I found it helped me to put things back into balance and move on to new adventures. Nice job.
It definitely did! Thanks again for the idea!! 🙂
