Today I… #sol18

Today I realized all the places where I neglected to put sunscreen yesterday.

Today I had five scheduled meetings with teachers.

Today I replied to 29 emails and left 31 to respond to tomorrow.

Today I ate leftover curry for lunch.

Today I led all of the Year 3 students in cooking dinner for their sleepover at school.

Today I wished I had rested my foot more.

Today I was a passenger on a bus and a cute four-year-old girl was my driver.

Today I learned about 3D shapes along with Kindergarten.

Today I laughed.

Today I reflected on some new ideas I have.

Today I played a joke on a teacher.

Today I listened to the Greatest Showman soundtrack for the eighty-third time.

Today I didn’t get as much done as I needed to.

Today I talked about writing.

Today I got some much-needed Spencer snuggles.

Today I spent fourteen hours at school and am in desperate need of sleep.

This is a great format for writing a slice … isn’t amazing all that you did today? Wow. And to think any one of these could be a slice itself, but I know sometimes, one doesn’t speak to me to write more than what it is … part of a list. I enjoyed seeing the snippets of your day: riding the bus with a 4 year old drive and playing a joke on a teacher!

Thanks Michelle! I actually had a great idea (cooking with Year 3) for a slice, but my exhaustion won out and I took the easy way out. It was fun to reflect on my day though. The 4-yr-old driver was funny! The teacher almost had a heart attack she said when I scared her by playing a joke. πŸ™‚

A busy day for sure! A great format and I bet I will be seeing this in future slices, maybe even mine. Rest up, tomorrow is another day. πŸ™‚

The four-year-old driver takes the best place. Laughter follows. A good format to use. As for emails- soooo many.

I love this format! And I agree with Elsie, I bet we see this on other slices before the month is over. I know I have tucked it away. I am a little confused on the one that says: Today, I didn’t get done as much as I needed to. Wow, I think you had a very full 14-hour day! Today, I think you need some rest.

I love this format! Just hearing that your inbox sounds like mine made me feel a lot better. πŸ™‚ One of our students was in Greatest Showman, so we LOVE listening to the soundtrack!!!

This is a great technique for a busy, stressful day! You can find the good moments among the exhaustions and frustrations by writing. I hope you got some rest and your foot is feeling a bit better.

Thanks…it was all I could yesterday. I really wanted to write more, but I could barely keep my eyes open. Foot is better today, but boy am I still tired. It’ll be an early night tonight!
