She Remembers
She remembers caring for him,
pretending he was her baby.
She remembers him following her around
like a shadow, a copy cat.
She remembers him pestering,
annoying,
bothering,
tattling,
fighting.
She remembers being enemies,
destined to never be friends.
She remembers joining forces,
combining efforts,
making peace–
if just for a moment.
She remembers laughing,
hugging,
playing,
talking.
She remembers waking up and
realizing he’d grown up,
matured,
become a man.
She remembers his wedding,
crying tears of joy and pride.
She remembers him becoming
a daddy.
She remembers being proud
of her little brother.
Loving him despite the differences,
Loving him because of them.
Lovely sentiments. I love they way you have written in the third person.
This poem made me think of my three kids – so special to have siblings you are close to and proud of, right?!
Brothers can be such a bother when they are young, but when they grow into a man, they someone you can turn to. Very nice poem for your brother.
Beautiful poem of sibling love…and the picture at the end is priceles….you have quite a grip on your brother…and a smile on your face. Love this. Jackie http://familytrove.blogspot.com/
She remembers and I bet He does, too. A very special poem.
This is beautiful. I’ve had the same feelings about my sister through the years. Thank you for sharing.
Love it! You really know how to hug on my heart strings. Your writing skills are so gifted.
Tears…….You have truly touched my heart. I love you dearly
